What’s in Loretta Sanchez’s purse?

Loretta Sanchez has a squishable globe in her purse.

Loretta Sanchez has a squishable globe in her purse.

Rep. Loretta Sanchez recently revealed some of her inner most secrets to Politico. So what did she tell them? What she keeps in her handbag.

No kidding. Sanchez is well known for being a good sport so when Politico asked her to do one of their “Click”  video segments that shows the lighter side of a House member she said sure.  Props to Calbuzz for digging the Politico item out and showcasing it today.

Turns out Sanchez carries a pretty large canvas tote she bought in Belgium. In her words she tells Politico it has ““skinny sexy women hanging out having coffee or tea in some café in Europe.”

The ever prepared Santa Ana Democrat said she has everything in the bag in case she gets stuck in an elevator: water, plain almonds, Dentyne  gum and a Luis Vuitton red wallet. She says she has mint natural herb tea because she doesn’t drink alcohol.

There’s hand lotion so she’s always ready to shake constituents hands. And five pens so she can sign autographs, add her name to bills and do crosswords when she’s bored.

And she carries around campaign envelopes in case she runs into a donor, two check books- one for D.C. and one for the district - and two very large sets of keys.

I wonder why she didn’t add Nativo (Larry) Lopez to the list?

  • ocobserver says:

I bet she has some pretty hefty checks signed by the president of LaRaza in that Belgium purse of hers too. That is unless they happen to make cash donations. Is that even possible??? ;)

    • bpsqwerty says:

great point. no purse but a “tote” bag? yuk.

how about an expose on her plastic surgery at the taxpayers’ expense. I see she’s been borrowing from the Nancy Pelosi school of governing.

  • bpsqwerty says:

awful woman. what’s next for Politico, what’s in Jack Kevorkian’s wallet?

  • ocexpat1 says:

    How is this news?

  • English Defence League says:

an amnesty bill, money from la raza/aclu, fake SS#’s so she can have the illegal population vote for her

  • gouscoc says:

Since she holds the record on tax payer funded trips I am guessing a lot of foreign stuff.

  • liz says:

What do you mean awful woman? She has devoted her entire life to serving her constituants. She grew up here in Anaheim, and you all are being rediculous. This was just a fun article no politics necessary

  • Jim says:

She’s pretty cool and certainly attractive and all the negative responders know it. Most notably, she’s a member of the United States Congress. How cool is that?

This white male, professional engineer likes her and likes living in her district. She represents all of her constituents…

  • Sister Sister says:

A Vuitton wallet (pricey) a purse she bought in Belgium (I’m sure she was there since its such a hotbed of American government).

  • ocobserver says:

What ever happened to that female aide who worked for Loretta who was using the gobblement credit card to purchase unauthorized goods??? There was a neighborhood girl who used a friend’s CC without authorization and went to lockup for a year. But then she didn’t work for the congresswoman either. That must be the difference here. If you got friends in the right places you get a pass.

  • Gentwelve says:

Is it big enough to smuggle an immigrant or two across the border?

  • bobexoc says:

Maybe Bill Clinton’s cell phone number.

  • Sandra says:

    COME ON THIS IS NEWS????

    • RepublicansAreLiarsandThieves says:

Agreed Sandra! The OCR is much like fox news, if they can get people all worked up with a story they use it. I am positive that there were many many things happening right here in the community that NEED to be reported on, instead OCR feeds the right wing red meat. I would have to say also that just like the bogus people at town hall meetings this past summer none of these people even live close to Rep. Sanchez’s district. This is not a “news” outlet, just a tool for the right wing to attack anything that is not their point of view.

  • bobexoc says:

Maybe Bill Clinton’s cell phone number. He never had good taste in women.

  • Grunt41 says:

    ACLU membership card?

  • jane says:

Wow! you guys have said it all! Glad you see the truth about her. Can’t wait for her Holiday Postcard this year posing with her big cat. What a joke.

  • Dina says:

She’s had work done. As long as the Cat is o.k. I could care less about what is in her purse.

In Santa Ana she will need a concealed weapon and permit.

  • Dina, in Santa Ana she could not GET a CCW.

  • tim says:

How the hell is this news. We have so many serious issues going on and idiots want to know what’s in her purse. This country has gone to S#$*.

  • OCReader says:

Is this woman really making decisions for this country? She stated at the beginning that she would rather be in Europe than in the country she is supposed to be leading. What a nitwit!

  • Bob Holt says:

What would be in Loretta Sanchez purse.

    I. A list of all the junkets she been on including the one where she bought the purse.
    2. ACLU membership card.
    3. La Raza membership card.
    4. Love letters from Fidel Castro.
    5. A card with her name and address on it, just in case she gets lost.
    6. One of those games where you try to get the BB’s in the hole.
    7. Last, a business cards from Dena Bunis who is the only person that would write this garbage.

  • alterego58 says:

    Dina, Dina, Dina, pleeeeze. C’mon.

  • 714native says:

Rep. Loretta Sanchez is a perfect example of why this state is in such bad shape. This state has been controlled by a Democratic
state assembly for five decades of this type of worthless politician.

Can anyone even tell me what she has done?

  • Al says:

    Lap Dog, Blue Dog

  • Red says:

Everyone should know that the Register censored my previous comment, even though it was logical, truthful, pertinent, responsive, non-abusive, non obscene (the Register allows those comments) and similar to many other comments. They censored it, because it was critical of the OC Register, which is relentlessly and shamelessly committed to re-electing Loretta Sanchez.

    • Second the motion says:

The Register refuses to report or even permit discussion of Loretta’s affair with her married military escort, on the grounds that her sex life is a private matter. Yet they devote their time to a story about the contents of her private purse? Hypocrites. Loretta’s refusal to answer the mounting questions about her own adultery scandal (much juicier than Gov. Sanford’s, Villariagosa or Newsome), demonstrates that she believes she has something to hide. If the allegations about her adultery with her married military escort were false, you can be sure she would have denied it by now. Instead, it is obvious that she has given strict instructions to her staff to stonewall all inquiries. Her conduct in using her official travel to pursue a relationship with a married officer is just as reprehensible as Sanford’s, yet the “mainstream” media refuses to investigate and report on it. This can only be explained by their desire to protect a cherished political ally. What scandal? Just google: loretta sanchez scandal. Don’t expect any reporting from the Register on this–they are merely “stenographers for the pwoerful.”

  • Patriot says:

    Forged passports?
    Fake green cards?
A guide, in spanish, “how to sneak acroos the US border”?
    Maybe a taco?

  • Dan says:

OCR, why don’t you report on her lock-step vote with Pelosi? BTW, her office still claims she is a “Blue Dog”.

    Right.
