O.C. Rep: Health bill will aid undocumented

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher got time during today’s floor debate for just one sentence. And the Huntington Beach Republican said he opposes the health reform bill because the measure will “take hundreds of billions of dollars out of Medicare and give millions of dollars of health care to illegal immigrants.”

Rohrabacher and many Republicans have said that even though the Democratic-drafted health bill expressly says anyone who is here illegally will not get federal health care subsidies, that there isn’t sufficient enforcement in the measure.
As today’s debate continues, more is likely on this issue. GOP lawmakers wanted a verification system put in the bill. But Democrats said that was unworkable.
The Senate bill goes further than the House’s when it comes to this issue. Senators would not only ban illegal immigrants from getting federal health care subsidies, but says that if you’re not authorized to be here you can’t buy health insurance in the new exchange that would be set up to help people afford policies.

The Medicare cuts Rohrabacher referred to comes in the form of combating waste and fraud and slashing subsidies to managed care insurance companies who provide the Medicare Advantage plans, such as Secure Horizons policies written in Orange County.
Here’s some of what Rohrabacher said when he returned to the House floor later this afternoon.
“This attempt at sliding Americans into dependence on a government-controlled health care system brings bait and swtich to a new low….
“This so-called reform will destroy the freedom of the American people to make health decisions with their doctor and the doctor of their choice. It will transform our system rather than reform it and what we will end up with is a system that is massively more expensive, less effective and will be based on government controls and rationing rather than a doctor-patient relationship.”

Doesn’t matter what is in the bill, the American taxpayer is going to get screwed one way or the other. Even if they got something in the bill keeping illegals from getting freebies, they’d just conveniently leave it out in committee when they merge the senate and house bill together. One of the main goal of the people trying to pass this bill want illegals to get health care. Even if they couldn’t get health care, the same people want give them amnesty. So they will be getting it one way or the other.
Remember a month or two ago when they had all those town hall meetings and the poll numbers showed that the American people did not want this??? Well, they finally realized that their plan wasn’t going to work so they backed off for a month and with the help of the state run media they’ve convinced all the mind-numb koolaid drinkers out there that they want this. The white house has created their enemies list and now anyone who opposes the white house is a racist, homophobe, bigot, etc…
This administration has shaped up to be a colossal failure, but half the population is too busy bending over for the first colored president with a D next to his name to be critical of anything going on.
Examples:
1. Bush approved overspending bills and was constantly critiisized for doing so, yet Obama approves more spending then Bush ever did in a far shorter time. Is the media and the left critizing the current adminstration? Not at all.
2. Obama promised unemployment wouldn’t go over 8%. He used incredibly stupid, unquantifiable language like save or create one millions jobs if we just approve his massive spending stimulus bill. Here we are at 10.2% unemployment, actually 17.6% unemployment if you count the people who have dropped off the list for being unemployed for too long AND the people who are underemployed taking part time jobs because full time jobs are nonexistent.
3. The stimulus money went to big banks so bazillionares could continue to get their million dollar bonuses while the blue collar worker loses their job and has their credit card rates jacked sky high so they can never be paid off. This administration isn’t creating jobs, Obama isn’t for the middle or lower class. They are for the big banks, corporations, union bosses, and big business. Meanwhile the average American is getting the shaft big time and footing the bill.
If half of this population in America can’t wake up and realize what is going on then we all are going to suffer their stupidity. Go ahead and Bash Bush too. We all know it’s Bush’s fault. We’ll be hearing this for the next 100 years. I bet you 50 years from now a democrat will be elected and will be immune from any criticism because it will still be Bush’s fault. So if you feel like bashing Bush you might as well save you breath and go back to drinking the koolaid because your opinion is worthless.
Final note: If you want things to change in this country for the better, you can not elect the same fools again and again and expect a different result. People elect buffoons into office like Nancy Pelosi, give her a 13% approval rating, then reelect her next election like clockwork, but complain for another few years that she does a crappy job. Get a clue people!
Um, we don’t use the word “colored” to describe blacks, or African-Americans anymore. It’s kind of like using the word “oriential” to describe Asians, not very PC. And yes, it is polite to at least use the culturally accept PC terms when describing race.
Though not “politically correct” it did make me laugh. Poltical correctness is what has gotten us into the mess in which we find ourselves. It was because of “political correctness” that no one filed a report on the army major who spewed anti American rhetoric while in medical school. This same man (and I use the term loosely) went on to kill thirteen brave soldiers and civilians. Since politicians rarely do anything correctly, I find the term “political correctness” to be a bit of an oxymoron.
If you are so concerned with “political correctness”, maybe you should lobby the NAACP to change their name. Or perhaps lobby the music industry to not mention violence against women in any rap song. While we’re at it, let’s ask the rap artist to NOT use the “n word” in any of their lyrics. You’d be laughed out of their offices. Hypocrisy is all around us.
Yes, and I find it ironic that Obama is asking us to not jump to conclusions about the motive of the Ft. Hood shooter, but Obama jumped right in and make accusations about the white police officer who arrested the black professor, before getting all the facts.
It seems Obama will give a Muslim, American hating terrorist more benefit of the doubt than he would a white police officer just doing his job.
Of course it will aid the illegals. It’s the illegals that are targeted by the Democrats because they will turn out to vote (illegal or not). And their legal anchor-babies will vote for the Democrats because of the ill gotten booty that the Democratic Party provides to all kinds of criminals and illegals of all stripes.
Brian you need to go back to school for spelling grammer and and and, which administration tags people for not swinging the way they want? I think you are thinking outside in or inside out or not thinking at all

If you think you can do a better job, then why don’t you run of office? You always seem ready to spew your one-sided opinion, then denigrate others for theirs.
So, Mensarino, his “partisan agenda” conflicts with yours? As for me, I may move to HB, though my Rep. isn’t too bad at all on this. no dinero a las illegals.
I never knbew there were so many dummies in Orange County. This health bill will be good for everybody, there will be no loosers. You can bitch all you want, but will save a lot of lives, and if it costs the Government some money, so what, look at what these crazy wars are costing us. They have been trying to pass Government Health care since back in the 40’s. Lets give this bill a chance.

You can see what happened when this administration put in lightweight regs on the banking system…they took the TARP money, bought up other banks to prevent competition, stripped their customers of their credit limits and jacked up the interest on credit cards before the February deadline. That’s what is going to start happening now with health care premiums. AND NOT A PEEP FROM OBAMA.
Since my son graduated from college I have been paying his COBRA premium to keep health insurance on him…and guess what, just got a letter telling me they were jacking his monthly premium from $330.00 to $364.00! The Insurance Companies are going to get their money no matter what…we’ll just be paying ten ways to Sunday for ourselves and EVERYONE else, including Illegals…BEFORE this even goes through.
Oh, so did you get a new mirror? Who’s the dummy here? “…and if it costs the government some money, so what… ?”. Here’s a tip for you ticotn, THE GOVERNMENT HAS NO MONEY ! They take it from taxpayers, those who earn enough to pay FEDERAL INCOME TAX and taxes on those who PRODUCE goods for export, fuel taxes, etc. Yes, “they” (liberals) have wanted Government Healthcare since the 1940s. Why don’t we have it? We don’t want it !
Of course some of the dems. are determined that illegals will be included in the health care plan. What other reason could they have for refusing to put a verification in the bill. People on medicare should be afraid, very afraid
I read recently that the average wait time at an emergency room in OC is now up to 5 hours! Some have reported waiting 9 hours to see a doctor! I wonder who is crowding all the emergency rooms? I wonder what the wait time will be if the Dems get their way?
The US Congress is more dangerous to Americans than Osama Bin Laden. Both the Democrats and the Republicans have been selling Americans out for years. Vote out all incumbents.
Sit back and think about this for a couple minutes, folks.
The congress clowns who support this bill are telling you this: ‘We support fining you with a surtax in the thousands of dollars at the end of the year if you refuse to cooperate and a buy health insurance coverage from our corporate insurance friends. And if you refuse to pay the surtax we will thrown your behind in JAIL!
At the same time these same congress clowns want to give ILLEGAL FOREIGNERS free healthcare on YOUR DIME!!! How can the IRS hit them with a surtax???? THEY DON’T EVEN HAVE SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS FOR GOD SAKES!!!!

Umm, hellooo…that freedom has ALREADY been destroyed, Rep! Ask anybody (who still has a job) with a medical plan that gives us 4 or 5 choices of HMO/PPO providers (of which your doctor is not a member of). Go to ANY “medical group” in Orange County for a physical, tell them your medical/family history and what YOU think is the problem, and see what YOUR reaction is when they tell you “I’m the doctor, I know what’s best for you. Here, take this prescription and let me know how you’re feeling. Buh-bye now!” How about fighting to keep the Big Medical & Pharmaceutical Corporations OUT of the system? Oh yeah - that’s right - they’re the ones PAYING YOU to support their special interests!
