FPPC announces it won’t investigate Duvall

The Sacramento Bee is reporting that the Fair Political Practices Commission has rejected a request to investigate former Orange County Assemblyman Mike Duvall.
Common Cause, a government watchdog, had filed a complaint against Duvall, a married father of two who resigned in September after a video surfaced of him bragging about having sex with two women who reportedly were lobbyists.
Common Cause had argued that a lobbyist having sex with a lawmaker violated a state law that forbids lobbyists from taking actions that place elected officials under their “personal obligation.” The FPPC ruled that the clause refers to a financial arrangement.
Common Cause had filed the complaint with the FPPC because the Attorney General and the Assembly Ethics Committee have both passed on investigating Duvall, a Yorba Linda Republican.

like we didn’t already know this was coming. same ole same ole politics ‘do what I say, not what I do.’
This is disappointing at best. So that means that Duvall, Miller, and whoever can waste my tax dollars sitting on their hind ends chatting about sex.
I will remember my tax dollars flying out the window come voting time!
I hate politicians.
Can you imagine the can or worms that would have been opened up if they did an investiagtion? The investigation would reveal all of the politicians for they truly are.
They should investagate all of them!

I am a Republican and I’ve got to say that I am very angry about this. Why can’t the politicians see that voters are becoming increasingly aware of the dirty actions and cronyism that are everyday occurances in government? I don’t care whether a lawbreaker is Democrat or Republican but I DO want them held accountable for their actions. I think that people are making mental note and will remember when election day rolls around. Just like Campbell who recently put an exception through benefitting auto dealerships because he’s tied into them financially. He will never get a vote from me.
Patriot and OC Tax Payer– Then WHY can’t we do anything about it? I swear to GOD that I would vote for ANY candidate that was actually an honest person trying to do their best for the voters, not themselves and their campaign contributor cronies.
Yeah, but then they’re ALL honest and dedicated to the voters…. when they’re campaigning.
Actually I would vote for Mr. Joe Schlub fresh off the streets. We might be able to get a person without connections to lobbiests and the desire to something HONEST.
Another reason to change your voter registration to “INDEPENDENT”
If they investigate this, they will find 100 more Duvall’s and soon who will be there to turn out the lights in Sacramento.
Maria Shriver could turn out the lights. She would get a call on her cell phone while driving and park in “No Parking” red zone or a Handicap spot run up read the directions of how to turn off a light switch. Problem solved.
FPPC, Assembly Ethics Committee, Atty General, Michael “Open Mike” Duvall all eating out of the same trough.
That is why there won’t be an investigation.
FPPC is dracula. Duvall is frankenstein.

While disgusting that there won’t be an investigation it’s not a surprise. Thick as thieves!
Is anyone else sick to death of the abundant hit pieces that Linda Ackerman is sending? Multiples arrive daily. I get it, Linda does not want us to vote for Chris Norby. That’s all she sends. I have no idea why I should vote for her. I do know that her husband has long been considered Mike Duvall’s political godfather and the Duvalls and the Ackermans are great friends. Good reason NOT to vote for her. Reminds me of the saying, one is known by the friends they keep.
Isn’t a current fundraiser who works for Ackerman the one who was seen doing the nasty with Duvall in a vehicle??? At least that is what TV reporter Dave Lopez reported on Channel 9. John & Ken have been reporting on it as well.
Yep. It all seems to make sense.
