Obama birthplace lawyer submits suspect document

Updated Oct. 27 with Associated Press statement that it never reported that Obama was born in Kenya - that it has reported he was born in Hawaii.
Laguna Niguel lawyer Orly Taitz on Sunday electronically filed with the federal court in Santa Ana a document purporting to be a June 27, 2004, Associated Press story in a Kenyan newspaper saying that Barack Obama was born in Kenya.
But there’s a couple potential problems with that. First, Obama’s first name is misspelled as “Barrack” - an unlikely typo for the Associated Press to make on a man about to be elected to the U.S. Senate. Second, perusal of the Nexis database finds several versions of a similar story using the same quotes - but none mention Obama’s birthplace. Farther down in this blog item, I have a link to Taitz’s version and I’ve re-printed a version from the Nexis database.
Plus … since originally posting this item, I received the following statement from Paul Colford, director of media relations for the Associated Press: “The AP has never reported that President Obama was born in Kenya. In fact, AP news stories about the state of Hawaii have confirmed that he was born there. The Kenyan paper that you cite rewrote a 2004 AP story, adding the phrase ‘Kenyan-born.’ That wording was not in the AP version of the story.”
As I wrote in this profile of Taitz in yesterday’s newspaper, Taitz has had past problems with authenticity of her documents in her longshot legal efforts to prove that Obama is not a natural-born citizen and so is not the legitimate president.
In her filing yesterday, Taitz writes that her version of the AP story - from The Sunday Standard - ” is unauthenticated, but is allegedly derived from a well-known and highly respected news wire service, namely the Associated Press.”

CHICAGO — Illinois Senate candidate Jack Ryan dropped out of the race Friday amid a furor over lurid sex club allegations that horrified fellow Republicans and caused his once-promising candidacy to implode in four short days.
“It’s clear to me that a vigorous debate on the issues most likely could not take place if I remain in the race,” Ryan, 44, said in a statement. “What would take place, rather, is a brutal, scorched-earth campaign — the kind of campaign that has turned off so many voters, the kind of politics I refuse to play.”
The campaign began to come apart Monday following the release of embarrassing records from Ryan’s divorce. In those records, his ex-wife, “Boston Public” actress Jeri Ryan, said Ryan took her to kinky sex clubs in Paris, New York and New Orleans and tried to get her to perform sex acts with him while others watched.
Ryan disputed the allegations, saying he and his wife went to one “avant-garde” club in Paris and left because they felt uncomfortable.
In quitting the race, Ryan lashed out at the media and said it was “truly outrageous” that the Chicago Tribune got a judge to unseal the records.
“The media has gotten out of control,” he said.
Top Illinois Republicans immediately began the work of selecting a new candidate. Their choice will become an instant underdog against Democratic state Sen. Barack Obama in the campaign for the seat of retiring GOP Sen. Peter Fitzgerald. Obama held a wide lead even before the scandal broke.
“I feel for him actually,” Obama said on WLS-AM. “What he’s gone through over the last three days I think is something you wouldn’t wish on anybody. Unfortunately, I think our politics has gotten so personalized and cutthroat that it’s very difficult for people to want to get in the business.”
Ryan had faced mounting pressure to quit from party leaders, who met several times in Washington this week to discuss whether the campaign could survive.
“He really was a dead man walking,” Gary MacDougal, former Illinois Republican Party chairman.
Ryan conducted an overnight poll to gauge his support. After reviewing the results, Ryan’s advisers told the candidate that the only way to survive would be wage an extremely negative and expensive response.
“Jack Ryan made the right decision. I know it must have been a difficult one,” said House Speaker Dennis Hastert of Illinois, who made his feelings known by canceling a fund-raising event scheduled for Thursday with Ryan.
During the primary, Ryan waved off rumors of damaging sex allegations in his sealed divorce records, assuring state officials there was nothing in the file to worry about.
But the Tribune and Chicago TV station WLS sued for the records’ release, and a California judge ordered them unsealed.

I agree. Also, the first bailout was at the end of Bush’s term. That one was 100% money to the corporations. Obama added his own bailout because our economy would suffer heavily if he didn’t. Also a good portion of that money is going to be invested into our economy, not like Bush’s bailout.

Same with his takeover of failing companies-great now taxpayers dollars will keep them afloat just long enough for the to fail at a later point in time. See the original great depression for some historical reference. Its widely accepted, or at least as widely accepted as global warming, that FDRs actions prolonged the agony.

It’s not the court’s responsibility to authenticate anything. The job of the court is to adjudicate evidence and testimony, and make sure both sides play by the rules. Orly has, and will continue to be, smacked down on the strength of “evidence” and testimony, and likely to be smacked down again on her inability to play by the rules she was supposed to learn in law school.
She submitted a document that she herself disqualified by her own statements in the submission. This is a typical example of her incompetence as an attorney.

Regarding Fox, my own personal belief is that they aren’t doing a strong enough job at asking questions or opening dialogue on this very important question of Obama’s eligibility. I suspect that since Fox has have evidently not been bought off (as I also suspect the rest of the media has been), they have probably had personal threats made against the company and several of its show hosts. When I see someone like O’Reilly over-react irrationally to a situation I know there is more at play than what he is saying. Only fear causes this to happen, and fear is what Chicago thuggery majors in.

It is looking increasingly likely that Barrack Obama will be elected in November as Senator of the State of Illinois. The number of prospective voters has increased after his presumptive opponent in the election was felled by accusations of sexual impropriety.
Simultaneous with Obama’s rising stature is the increasing desire by Kenyans to identify with him. Typical newspaper headlines and messages flying around the Internet tend to lead with the theme “Kenyan-linked”, or “Kenyan-American”, or even, erroneously, “Kenyan-born”.
People like identifying with winners, especially when they can be linked to them in a direct way. However, Kenyans are mistaken in attempting to claim Mr Barrack Obama as one of their own, for two very important reasons.

Actually, It is widely accepted that Alan Greenspan carries the majority of blame for the state of today’s economy. During his congressional appearance, he conceded he failed to recognize the red flags and other various warning signs before the meltdown.
He basically rolled the dice and it came up craps. Had he been more in tune, actions could have been implemented to stop the bleeding far sooner that what ultimately happened.
The president(s) (either one) really had no power to affect this in any way. Moreover, it was Congress and their approval of the gremlin known as Credit Default Slips, which are second in line of the blame game.
Now that being said, Obama’s own administration has also conceded they underestimated the situation which was now in full swing crisis mode, and got the stimulus package wrong. This evidently being possible, while still having near daily “state of the economy” public briefings pre-inauguration.

And to the pseudo Lawyer who likes to quote Vattel, U.S. Immigration Law CLEARLY states that only ONE parent need be a U.S. citizen in order for his/her offspring to become a natural born U.S. citizen by birth. Since Obama’s mother was a born and raised native of the State of Kansas, which was admitted into the Union on January 21, 1861, she would classify as a U.S. citizen.
Regardless what the OTHER parents citizenry is, and, regardless of WHERE the offspring is born, since ONE parent is a U.S. citizen, the child automatically acquires U.S. citizen upon birth. Therefore, since President Obama’s mother was a U.S. citizen, he acquired his U.S. citizenship via his mother. It’s called citizenship by “Acquisition.”
Thus, even IF he was born in Kenya (or on Krypton for all I care), he is STILL a U.S. citizen, which citizenship passed from his mother to him. Nice try, wingnuts.

I think it’s absurd that people are demanding Obama produce a copy of his birth certificate. For this so called fraud to have taken place, do you honestly think that he would be incapable of producing a fraudulent document to shut people up? He has used only one SS# in his life. The birth certificate that he furnished in 2007 is the ONLY legal form of birth documentation in Hawaii and has been since they went paperless in 2000. This is with the Full Faith and Credit of the US Govt. Long form or vault certificates have not been available in Hawaii for 9 years.
You will probably never see his school or travel records because he, like his mother, worked for the CIA in his college years. His mama through the Ford Foundation and he through Business International Corp (BIC). You have heard of the term “classified” I hope.
He has always used the name Barack Obama. It was his stepfather (who never adopted him) who wrote his name as Barry Soetoro on his enrollment form in Indonesia (which, incidentally, lists his place of birth as Hawaii). Barack has always gone by the name Barack Obama. Perhaps some words from his old high school teacher will provide you with a little more information as to his birth, childhood, etc.

He’s shown papers, and the state of Hawaii has officially confirmed he was indeed born in Hawaii. So many lawsuits have been dismissed because there is not enough evidence to support the THEORY that he was NOT born in the US. So rather then forcing him or his administration to reconfirm what Hawiian officials have already confirmed or re-release a copy of his birth certificate, the people who believe that he was NOT born in the US need to prove their case and come up with enough evidence to support their claims.

Lawyer seems to not remember this tiny little Amendment to our Constitution called the 14th Amendment, Section 1:
All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
Since one can only become a citizen by birth or by naturalization, how can anyone continue to think that Obama isn’t a natural born citizen?

Since Obama wasn’t naturalized, was born in Hawaii ( a state of the Union at the time of his birth) - He is by the 14th Amendment a natural born citizen and eligible to run and hold the office of the President of the United States.

President Obama has paid nearly $1.7 million to his top eligibility lawyer since the election.
Obama for America, Obama’s 2008 political campaign, merged with the Democratic National Committee in January and is now known as Organizing for America. The grassroots army that some refer to as “Obama 2.0″ is still collecting financial contributions.
Federal Election Commission records for “Obama for America” show that the lobby organization has paid international law firm Perkins Coie exactly $1,666,397.01 since the 2008 election.
The most recent sum, $314,018.06, was listed in Obama for America’s October Quarterly report filed with the FEC.

WND also reported that Bauer sent a letter to plaintiff Gregory Hollister, a retired Air Force colonel, of Hollister v. Soetoro, threatening sanctions if he didn’t withdraw his appeal of the eligibility case that earlier was tossed by a district judge because the issue already had been “twittered.”

FWIW the blog post that you’re commenting on points out that “Kenyan born” was not in the original AP story, that it was added by the Kenyan paper, includes the actual AP story and a link to the Kenyan version, and has a quote from AP disavowing ever saying Obama was born in Kenya.
