Reports: Mike Duvall caught bragging about affairs

The buzz in Sacramento today is over reports late Tuesday by KCAL-TV and the OC Weekly that Orange County Assemblyman Mike Duvall, R-Yorba Linda, was caught on tape bragging about having sex with two women who were not his wife.
In a video aired on KCAL, the 54-year-old Duvall apparently does not to realize his microphone is on prior to a committee meeting in Sacramento earlier this summer. The video, from the state’s own broadcast of legislative business, appears to show Duvall bragging to another man about his “sexual conquests” as KCAL reporter Dave Lopez puts it.
Lopez said some of what Duvall said on the tape can’t be aired on television, but the station did broadcast this tidbit: “I like spanking her. She goes, ‘I know you like spanking me.’” The KCAL report cites unnamed sources who said Duvall was talking about having sex with two married lobbyists.
The KCAL report identifies one lobbyist as representing utility companies — which is significant because Duvall is the vice chairman of the Assembly Utilities and Commerce Committee.
Meanwhile the OC Weekly report, which appears to have been reported alongside the KCAL one, identifies the tape as being made on July 8. OC Weekly reporter R. Scott Moxley alleges that one of the lobbyists who slept with Duvall is Sempra Energy lobbyist Heidi DeJong Barsuglia, who turned 36 in July.
UPDATE: Sempra Energy released this statement later in the day Wednesday denying the published reports naming her as the person Duvall was describing:
“Sempra Energy takes very seriously any reports involving the conduct of our employees. We are investigating this matter and the recent media reports that named one of our employees. The employee has denied the speculative media reports. Our investigation will be conducted to ensure not only that our policies on employee conduct are strictly adhered to, but also that our employee is treated fairly.”

I am an Orange County Republican. There is only one way to get Mr. Duvall’s attention and any other politician’s attention, whether they are Republican or Democrat.
