Hawaii officials reconfirm Obama’s birth there

In a lawsuit filed in Santa Ana by Alan Keyes and Pastor Wiley Drake - as well as among some conspiracy theorists nationwide - there’s a claim that President Barack Obama was not born in the United States as so is not the legitimate president of the U.S. Click here to read more on the lawsuit.
But on Monday, Hawaii officials reconfirmed that Obama was indeed born there.
“I … have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen,” state Health Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino said. Click here to read the Associated Press story.
Additionally, Congress took another step toward affirming that birth on Monday. The House unanimously approved a resolution recognizing and celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hawaii becoming the 50th state, including a clause that reads: “Whereas the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961.”
Drake, pastor of Buena Park’s First Southern Baptist Church, dismissed the news from Hawaii in an interview with the Register’s Michael Mello. Click here to read that.

1) Why can’t we see his long-form? YOU CAN go to Hawaii and see it for yourself. Hawaii keeps the original document in their records.
2) Why don’t BHO’s supporters want to know the whole truth? WE DO knwo the truth and we are tired of extremists who refuse to accept it.
I understand the right to question it, but it has been proven by many different reliable sources.
Please Name those reliable sources which has provided proof of Obama’s:
(1) Birth Place
(2) Of his adoption papers and Citizenship of Indonesia. IT is a fact that he was adopted by his Indonesian stepfather and attended school in Indonesia.
(3) Documents to show that he gave up his Indonesian citizenship. It is a fact than when he was adopted his Indonesian stepfather.
(4) His application and approval for reinstatement of his U.S. citizenship after giving up his Indonesian citizenship.
(5) His college enrollment documents to provide he did not go to college as a foreign student.
(6) His monitory registration for military service documentation
(7) His passport information to Indonesia to prove that he traveled as a citizen of USA or Indonesia.
If I had this many missing documents, I could not even get a job or driver’s license in this country.

Birth certificates are normally private, yes. But there are some cases in which one needs to provide this type of information, such as getting a passport or drivers’ license–anything that you need to prove birthplace for eligibility. Obviously, president of our nation is one of these cases.
“Please prove to us where you were born” is a fair question to a President or would-be President, just as it is to anyone else applying for some document or job which has a residency or citizenship eligibility criterion, and this question deserves a prompt and thorough answer. It matters to any and every citizen, because it matters whether the person running for or acting as President is constitutionally qualified. There would be no good reason for most people to ask Joe the Plumber to prove his birthplace, but there is ample reason to ask the President.
The document from Hawaii which is posted on fightthesmears and on factcheck is a document of a type that, until about a year ago, was categorically considered to be NOT proof of place of birth even in Hawaii. Newspaper announcement is nice, but it’s reasonable to assume there may have been an announcement in the grandparents’ town whether or not the baby was born there, and there are no cases in which this would constitute proof of citizenship–imagine trying to get a passport based on a birth announcement. They’d say to come back with an actual birth certificate.
It’s a fair question and should be dealt with as such.
The president of the U.S. birth certificate is not private and is a matter of legal record. If he has nothing to hide he should have produced it last year. Why had his grandmother not said anything in the last 4 years before he became president. Since she raised him why was she not shown or asked how she felt about him running for president the last 2 years before he became president? Isn’t it strange that she died the day before he became president. Isn’t it strange when the birth certificate issue came up that she got worse and he had to go back to see her last fall in the middle of his campaign?
I don’t care about any of this at this moment. I just wonder what his real agenda is since he had no real voting record when he in office.

Even if he were born on Mars he would still qualify as a natural born citizen under USC TITLE 8, CH 12, Supchapter III, Pt I, § 1401.

Also not relevant is USC TITLE 8, CH 12, Subchapter III, Pt I, § 1401since that code only grants U.S. citizenship at the time of birth; it does not have anything to do with the requirement of Section 1 of Article Two of the United States Constitution that states:
“No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.”
The whole argument from the birthers is that they are complaining President Obama is supposedly not a natural born citizen of the United States. Not that he’s not a U.S. citizen.
Of course, as crazy as the birthers are, they might start an argument on that topic as well.

Though I do not agree with the racist statement about returning to your homeland which is written above, it is of importance for me to point out that your whole essay is based upon opinions which you blatantly present as fact. There is too many to mention I will start with the bottom statement. Khalid Shaikh Mohammed is on record as saying that he lied to interrogators to get them to stop torturing him. That’s right, he in his own words, said that he lied to get them to stop torturing him. You would think a man from Vietnam would be against torture?? We didn’t torture in the Vietnam War, should we of Mr. Nguyen? And before you answer that question, consider that South Vietnamese look the same as North Vietnamese, so what would have stopped you from being mistaken for a Vietcong and being tortured your self.

We already have socialized medicine in this country. Its called Medicare. Also, treatment for all of our Gitmo detainees is better than we get here. The Veterans Administration is also Socialized Healthcare if anyone bothers to notice. If it is good enough for our veterans, why should’t the people without healthcare get something similar. I spent my entire working years paying into Medicare while veterans spend four years minimum for lifetime healthcare. I doubt if spending four years in the military is going to pay for lifetime healthcare. Now if that is not socialized medicine, I don’t know what else to call it. I’m not criticizining the VA, though most Veterans I know manage to do that on their own though many have said that it has improved.

First off, President Obama has not presented his birth certificate. A scanned copy of a Hawaii State “Certification of Live Birth” was posted on the Daily Kos website and later copied by the Obama Campaign to his campaign website. Further more, this is not the same as the “State of Hawaii” Birth certificate, ask anyone who lives there or in any state for that matter.
Now they are claiming the real document has been released but is still be kept private and only being shown to the media. The administrations stance has been to say that “we have it, its real, but you cannot see it”
I think I will take the same approach when I register my kid for Soccer this year and see how that goes.
This has become such an issue the U.S. Congress called it to a vote and nearly 55 members refused to vote on whether President Obama was born in Hawaii or not.

As someone who was born in Hawaii, I can tell you that the State of Hawaii DOES NOT ISSUE BIRTH CERTIFICATES - this is why you never see a document that has the words “BIRTH CERTIFICATE” on it. Before the records were made electronic, the state would issue photostat copies of the “Birth Certificate” - I have a photostat copy of mine that is signed by the doctor who delivered me and my mother and it is clearly titled, “CERTIFICATE OF LIVE BIRTH”.
I understand that in some states there is a difference between a Birth Certificate and a Certificate of Live Birth, but in Hawaii that is not the case.
With my Certificate of Live Birth - which looks just like the President’s one - I was able to register for school, register for AYSO, register to vote, get a job and get a passport. I guess I should wait for the State Department to show up and revoke my passport and deport me to Kenya too.
According to these birfers then if you were born in Hawaii then you cannot become president because without a birth certificate ( and even with one ) they’ll cover their colective ears and scream “NANANANANANANANANA”

Umm, as someone born in Hawaii in roughly the same era as Obama, I can tell you with 100% certainty that my original “Birth Certificate” is entitled “Certification of Live Birth.” That is the one and only document along the lines of a “Birth Certificate” that we were issued.

Hawaiian law allows only the person and very close relatives to after death of the person in question to obtain a copy of the Birth certificate. Why should there be an expection for the law for you and your kind?

Okay, first thing is first. I have always maintained the stance that I believe the Obama birth certificate issue is a red herring to draw attention away from the real issues. I find the issue to be nothing more than a distraction although I have my questions.
That said, I will attempt to provide insight on your questions.
1. Being born in America since the US Constitution was established has been a fortunate thing for anyone. We are endowed with god given rights that other people are not afforded through one reason or another in their own country. For this I think any parent in the world would want their child to be born in the United States. I would not have it any other way with my children. We love them and want the best for them. So it is easy to see why. Think of how many people come to this country illegally braving intense conditions to give their children the same chance. Right or wrong it proves my point.
2. Government officials constantly prove to be easily corruptible through large cash donations and promise of re-election. Let’s not put it past any human being to fall under the spell of greed and corruption. It would be ignorant of us to assume otherwise.
3. Can you provide a source for the grandmother’s statements? I don’t pretend to be an expert on the subject

Corey, since his mother was a natural born citizen, he would have been a U.S. citizen entitled to all rights, priviledges and responsibilities as such. He just would not have been a “natural born” citizen which is the threshold for President of the U.S., therefore there would have been no reason, nor incentive to concoct a phony birth announcement in Hawaii.

This is just a technicality: If his Mother was over 18, then he would automatically be a citizen, even if born in Kenya. If she was under 18, then it could be disputed. There was a rumor before the election that his Kenyan Grandmother said that she was there at his birth. There is no proof.
However, for the sake of the good of our country, this should NOT be pursued. It is much too disruptive.

He may have very well been born a U.S. citizen in Hawaii. Recently released Occidental College transcripts show that under the name Barry Soetoro, he received financial aid as foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate. The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholoarship program. Indonesia does not allow dual citizenship, the real question should be, did Obama ever renounce his U.S. citizenship to become a citizen of Indonesia?
