I agree with Kimberly.

I've watched Calvert throughout the years and he's ineffective as they come. Totally out of touch with his district. The Riverside portion of it is one of the largest unemployment regions in the nation and they're foreclosure rate is off the charts.

He was one of those Bush-backers who drove our economy into the ditch and took that surplus Clinton left behind and squandered it.

Now suddenly when Democrats have taken over and are trying to fix things, Calvert's miraculously found his fiscally-conservative soul.

What a crock!

Calvert is an idiot and everyone knows it. The only reason he's still in that seat is because he's never been seriously opposed (until last year) and now is scrambling to save his seat! No way he's getting one more stint in that job. Either his Republican challenger will take him out in the primary next year or Hendrcik will do it next fall.

Its interesting the Democrats are complaining about Calvert's voting no on a military spending bill. With their background on supporting the military they should give him a parade. As far as raising money goes, don't all politicians raise money for a good political organization. I think this whole scam is going nowhere.

I think Calvert will have more of a fight than he thinks and the evidence is in his own statement: Calvert said. “I am going out and raising money and putting together a good political organization and we will be ready.” He is clear that his direction will be to "raise money" and "put together a good political organization." He does not even remotely mention talking to the PEOPLE of his district.

Firstly, I'm in no way related to Ken Calvert of Carona, California (and I might add Riverside County, not Orange County).

Secondly, why aren't we focusing on what is important? The federal government is nearly broke we must demand monies overpaid to skilled nursing facilities such as Sun Healthcare Group inc out of New Mexico -see article below: This would be a good start to recovering from our financial mess.

SUN was responsible for my mother's death one year after I notified them broken equipment might harm patients and they did nothing to respond to a critical situation = wilful misconduct = treble damages were owed to me. I was also cheated of compensation when threatened by my attorney for the CEO of SUN during mediation. I sued him for malpractice but he died just 2 weeks after learning I'd retained the attorney to sue him. Sadly. I won that case. And SUN cheated the State of California taxpayers out of millions of dollars in fines they should have been fined by the Dept of Justice for violating their injunction at the facility for five deaths I'd witnessed were their responsibility in Newport Beach. Claude Vanderwold stated to me it was not considered in the fine they issued Sept, 2005 for $2.5 Million for other facilities in California. The Dept of Health also didn't fine SUN the usual $100,000 for her death. Yet their medical director, Dr L Scott Stoney wrote a medical review declaring they killed her and he quit due to the lack of response from management at SUN to his pleas and other families' requests for help in this facility. I can legally state this because I refused to sign a confidentiaity agreement with SUN after mediation due to the threats. I think I'll write a book about my experience.

article:
Potentially inappropriate nursing home payments spur increased Medicare Part A, Part D oversight
June 08, 2009
Tens of millions of dollars were likely inappropriately paid to skilled nursing facilities through the Medicare Part D prescription drug program in 2006, according to a recently released report from the Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General.
According to the OIG report, Part D spent roughly $41 million that year to pay for drugs for nursing home residents who should have been covered under the Medicare Part A benefit. While admitting that a small number of facilities constituted the vast majority of inappropriate payments-30 long-term care pharmacies were responsible for 18% of the payments-investigators say that nearly every SNF and half of all pharmacies have at least one Part A patient inappropriately receiving Part D subsidized prescriptions.
In response to the oversight, the OIG made a series of recommendations to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, which include more oversight and guidance for skilled nursing facilities. Specifically, OIG told CMS to implement retrospective reviews to prevent future inappropriate payments, and to further educate facilities, pharmacies and drug plans about which Medicare plan is responsible for which medication repayment.

Political attacks have to pass the laugh test. This one does not.

No one thinks Calvert is anti-military and that Pelosi and Obama really care about our troops. Just look at how the Democrats treated Gen. Petraus last year when he was on the Hill. They basically laughed in his face at the idea that the surge would work.

They hope we lose our wars and go on tours appologizing for the US.

Keep the attacks to healthcare or education or something you have a shred of legitamacy on. We all know you'd rather give IMF money to foreign gov't (some of which are hostile to the US) than give it to our troops in battles for freedom around the world.

What a joke.
