Former Senate Republican Leader and Orange County favorite Dick Ackerman was introduced today as a new partner in the national law firm Nossaman LLP, which has an office in Orange County.

I spoke with Ackerman recently and he sounded relaxed and happy. He seemed especially pleased that he didn’t have to stay all night at the Capitol to vote on the budget.

Ackerman also told me he’s teaching a course on politics at his alma mater, UC Berkeley. That’s a perfect job of him. Ackerman loves to talk politics and he quite possibly is the biggest Golden Bears fan in existence. Cut him and he’ll bleed Berkeley blue.
