A hearing scheduled for Wednesday about the upcoming trials of Deborah Carona and Deborah Hoffman will likely be postponed.

Former Orange County Sheriff Mike Carona was acquitted of five felonies — including conspiracy — and convicted on one count of witness tampering Friday. He faces anything from probation to 10 years in prison at his sentencing, tentatively set for April 27.

Deborah Carona’s attorney, Dave Wiechert, said a hearing on the women’s prosecutions will probably not happen at 9 a.m. Wednesday before U.S. Circuit Court Judge Andrew Guilford. He did not immediately have the new hearing date.

4:20 p.m. UPDATE: Wiechert just told me that there will be a 9 a.m. hearing tomorrow, but all he’ll be doing is asking the judge to delay the hearing a week.
