Pulse poll: Only half of Republicans list economy as top issue

October 30th, 2008, 3:53 pm · 7 Comments · posted by Martin Wisckol, Politics reporter

The nation’s economy may be voters’ foremost concern in the presidential election - but plenty of folks says other issues are more important, according to the latest OC Political Pulse poll.

Slightly over half of Republicans listed the economy as the No. 1 issue, with terrorism No. 2 at 27 percent. Nearly three quarters of Democrats put the economy on top, followed by Iraq at 15 percent. For independent and third party voters, 57 percent named the economy, followed by 17 percent lising Iraq.

Stop taking money from the citizens! The government needs to stop spending money on useless things. All I can say is yes on 8. and we are screwed if obama gets elected. Go look up he was not actually born in hawaii he only presented a certificate of live birth not a birth certificate. and it is for august 8th when he was actually born on august 4th. so another words he can not be our president. and he was born in kenya. so get out!

I worry about my Grand-Kids getting stuck with all these bonds we keep voting in. Who do you think in going to pay for them?? And thats both Dems and Rep.

While I sympathize, I doubt McCain will ever file the legal challenge (not politically correct). Even if Obama was born in Kenya, he can still be elected to the U.S. Senate. No reason for him to “get out” of there ; )

    Alex:

This land was founded with the idea of serving as a land of opportunity FOR ALL. Obama II was not born in Kenya. There is physical evidence and eyewitness accounts of his birth taking place in Hawaii. Whether he presented a certificate of live birth or a birth certificate, it still stands. Also, his birth date was listed correctly as August 4, 1961, so I am not sure where you are obtaining your information.

On that note, I sure hope that all Americans who plan on voting are thoroughly researching the propositions and their respective origins (such as the authors, i.e. Proposition 8 was actually written and introduced by the LDS church. Supporting Proposition 8 is purely and simply supporting the politicial power and control that the LDS church has had over this country for decades). I also hope that Americans are not “listening” to the propaganda in regards to both McCain and Obama. PLEASE…take the time to do your own research. Do not follow the words of another person, for they may be wrong.

Case and point, Alex. You seem to be another misinformed voter who just simply follows and believes the propaganda being spread. For the sake of this country, inform yourself by your own means…not someone else’s.

I am fully informed, and I already voted for McCain-Palin AND Prop. 8. We will have to agree to disagree. But, please don’t insinuate that smart voters can’t vote that way.
