The Yes on Proposition 8 campaign just put out a press release announcing that Saddleback Church pastor Rick Warren supports the gay marriage ban.
“For 5,000 years, every culture and every religion - not just Christianity - has defined marriage as a contract between men and women,” Warren is quoted in the release. “There is no reason to change the universal, historical definition of marriage to appease 2% of our population.”
You can hear more about Warren’s thoughts of Prop. 8 here.
RELATED PROP.8 COVERAGE

You post this information as if we should be surprised by Rick’s support of the passage of Proposition 8. Rick is first and foremost a believer of the principles set forth by the Bible which clearly states that not only is marriage between a man and a woman but relations between man and man or woman and woman is wrong.
It is not illegal to be gay in California. It is against the State and Federal constitution to deny any minority group equal protection under the law. Prop 8 is an attempt to deny equality with a creative definition of marriage.
Why? Because they believe homosexuality is a choice. If equality is not stopped, every heterosexual man or women with choose same-sex-marriage. That’s absurd. A vote for 8 is a vote for ignorance and hate.
First, how does it make it sound like it should be a surprise?
And second, I am proud that the nationally acclaimed pastor is standing up for what he believes.
Rick’s position is fine in regard to a church’s position. However, in the United States of America we have something called the 14th Amendment in which all Americans are to be equal in the eyes of government. It is wrong for someone to be forced to pay a social security marital benefit contribution to the government and then the goverment say, “thanks for the money, but you can’t get married to benefit from the payment. You are a second class citizen so sucks for you.” It is wrong for the government to offer a “marital benefit” for estate tax purposes and then say one couple can’t get married and can’t use it.
Many culturals treat women like second class citizens in the name of religion and have done so for thousands of years….should we do the same?
Most cultures had slaves and some still do…should we sanctify that as well?
The civil rights movement of the 50’s and 60’s was about less than 8% of the population…did we not treat them as equals?
If the arguement is about religion, that is fine. That isnt what the law states. The seperation of church and state is clear….religious beliefs should not determine policy.
How did we get to a place where so many of us believe people should have the “civil right” to marry their own sex. God help us.
I don’t belong to his church, but I am so glad Rick Warren has made this statement! Prop 8 is about not changing the definition of a word…marriage. It’s not about equal rights. Every person that wants to get married has always had a right to. It just has to be to one of the opposite sex! If you choose same sex, that’s up to you, but don’t call it marriage…it’s called civil union…where you have the same rights. Just wait and see…If prop. 8 doesn’t pass, much more than 2 percent of the people will be losing many of their rights…freedom of religion, freedom of speech, etc.
I met a woman (Much Like Rick “the Spanish Inquisitioner” Warren) who was standing with a Yes on 8 sign last weekend in Mission Viejo.
I ask her why she felt that way…
She had the regular stock “hate” slogans…
It’s against the Bible, it’s immoral, etc.
When I asked her logical Questions, like there are Slaves in the Bible… Does that mean we should go back to Slavery? She would say, I don’t know about that… I just know about this issue… etc.
I finally asked her (she has 6 Children! geez, god said be fruitful and multiply… but not like a freakin Brady Bunch) “what if one of your kids came to you and said they were Gay?”… She thought seriously for a few seconds and then Reluxantly said “I guess I would still love them… But…”
God love her… because I find it difficult with such hate inbreeded into these people by Religion.
This exchange gave me the solgan for these Bible thumpers:
In the BIBLE there are Slaves
but NOT here in California
In the Bible Jesus IS Love
but NOT here in California???
Please, GROW UP!
JESUS would say VOTE NO on 8
For the Love of GOD and Humanity !
Vote yes on 8!!!
Chris, you ask us to accept your views on PROP 8 but you can’t or wont accept our’s. You insult folks and on and on. Fact is we are voting “YES” on PROP 8 and it will be law, then just like the last time you and like thinkers will find a judge somewhere and we will do this again. That’s OK, I have a life time.
Vote YES on PROP 8
“a contract between men and women,” So polygamy is OK.
He’s wrong on his facts please talk to an anthrpologist marriage has not always been about a man and a woman. And it’s not 2% of the population, 50% of California’s population want to see marriage equality.
When will Rick Warren and his church, and others for that matter, have their religious tax loopholes taken away from them? There is a thing called separation of church and state. He is sending emails out to his ‘flock’ trying to get them to vote yes on 8. In a past election, I sat in one of his sermons while he was telling us how to vote. That was the last time I went to that church.
I am tired of all these churches using their power to influence elections. When will we stop this? Hit them where it counts.

OCGator… I never ASKED you to accept ANYTHING from Me.
is NOTHING Short of a Domestic Terrorist Group. They show TV ads with false claims saying they are Saving the Children??? Do you know the statistics of Kids that commit Suicides because of “the gay bashing / Bullying” in School? (Both to Straight and Gay) and this type of stuff from “Yes on 8″ will only causes more! And I wouldn’t be surprised if More Columbine High Schools Massacres would happen from it too. We need to Understand that we are all God’s Children, and Jesus Told us all to Love one another.
Supporters.
How do I insult “Folks” by telling it like it is???
It seems Lately that Religion has become EVIL,
Where is Jesus’ Love my Brother?
Your Group (Yes on
But You OCGator are obviously full of Hate, or something else…
YOU OCGator ask us to accept your DISCRIMINATION of OUR BASIC CALIFORNIA CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS with this “yes on PROP 8″ but you can’t or won’t accept ours sincere belief that it’s Smacks with Nazism Ideas that will only hurt all in the LONG RUN..
Can’t You hear little California Hitlers saying….
TODAY GAYS… TOMORROW DA VORLD!
If you can find it in your heart to Discriminate against one group of people, then who will be next?
Jews? Blacks? Latinos? ANYONE that Isn’t YOU???
Or do you already hate so much that you can’t speak your mind without fearing arrest for hate crimes?
I could care less about someone’s religion, just as long as IT doesn’t attack “MY” rights as a citizen of the U.S. and California.
Religion isn’t absolute… If it was, Polygamy would be OK in the US by Your Mormon (yes on
And What’s in the Bible isn’t the final word…
It is a Book, but it is not the ONLY book.
And the Book of Laws shall continue to Prevail.
And if for some weird fanatical reason “8” should pass…
It will be thrown out by the courts for being again “unconstitutional”…
Just as if You were to try to pass a Prop saying “all gays must die”.
After all, THIS is NOT Saudi Arabia… Yet…
And so, for us Peace Loving People, we will continue to vote against you and Yours OCHator…
And Your Holy War, here in the Land of the Free, shall continue to FAIL…
Like it has on other “ANTI-HUMAN RIGHTS” Propositions in the past.
VOTE NO on PROP 8 – Make this State GR8 !
Eekkk… 8 and ) makes a Happy Face???
Lori, Andy and Chris –
May I ask you a question? Does the government have the right or an interest to prevent ANY two consenting adults from getting a marriage license if they are in love?
joe why do you keep asking that trap of a question? you already know the answer, you already know the laws.
Megan
I keep asking becasue you and your friends won’t answer.
We both know “laws” change with the bang of a Judge’s Gavel-
Everything is subjective –
So I’m asking you, what types of marriages should the state prohibit and why? None?
AGAIN – TWO, not three or more, two adult humans are in love. How can the government justify not granting them a marriage license? How is it in the state’s interest to prevent ANY two people from getting a marriage license?
Why won’t you just answer this one simple question?
If you know its a scary “trap” work around it and muster something or fess up why you can’t?
I answered your question yesterday and you weren’t pleased with what I said.
Also, hahaha:
“We both know “laws” change with the bang of a Judge’s Gavel-”
I know that don’t just change them…you might want to take a class on government (again, if you have already).
Even if Prop 8 fails any two people “in love” will not be able to marry. Fathers can’t marry their daughers. Mothers can’t marry their sons. Brothers can’t marry their sisters. I believe it is also illegal for first cousins to marry. You see….marriage does have a legal definition. And the No on 8 supporters simply want to change it. We Yes on 8 folks want to preserve the definition.
I’ll say it again…
How did we get to a place where so many of us believe people should have the “civil right” to marry their own sex. God help us.
Marriage is between a man and a woman, not woman & woman, or man & man, that is the way it is defined, not only in the bible, but it was the law until people decided to change things. We voted on this subject once before and we the people agreed upon how marragie should be defined once before, but a libral judge decided to take matters into their own hands and not listen to the people. Prop 8 will pass on and yes vote.
What if Prop 8 does pass and is then challenged by the Supreme Court? What if the Supreme Court decides that it actually violates the very first sentence in the First Amendment of the US Constitution? Does anyone remember that that sentence is? “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion”. I know this is a state issue, but the last time I checked, the First Amendment covers all 50 states.
Hey Megan-
Quit dodging the question -
joe Says:
Does the government have the right or an interest to prevent ANY two consenting adults from getting a marriage license if they are in love?
Gee Joe… Does the Government have the Right??? I’d say no… but they do issue the licenses…
Do they have an interest in preventing? Yes, it’s a divisive issue and the Republicans are in Power and use scare tactics like “Terrorists , racism and Homophobia as Vote getting devices.
I Also know they (the Government) Have the Power to stop these marriages… Or have you NEVER watched the “TRUE Non-Fiction Movie” called “Jugdement at Nuremberg”? And that was just about a Young German woman and an older Jewish “Uncle type” Man being friends.
And if the US kicked the Nazis… Imagine what they could do to those they choose to HATE today???
Also… it wasn’t “laws” change with the bang of a Judge’s Gavel,
it was acknowledgement and inclusion of laws which had been illegally denied people that had changed with a bang of the gavel.
If Dredd Scott had been tried in California, maybe we wouldn’t have had the civil war?
And Robbie talks about no Marriage between relatives… that is to Stop mutated Pro-creation within Families, thus Robbie, does not that statement Work against the YES on 8 stand? You have the Hapsburgs of Austria and the house of Windsor EURO-Fest in-breeding Program to thank for the No Family Laws. Because They DID MARRY and the in-breeding offspring from them started to make “stereo-type” Hillbillies Look good.
Look at Prince Charles for such an example.
And Megan… If the Constitution says ““Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion”. .. Where Does that Put the Mormons and their stand on Polygamy? - of coarse Prior to Utah Statehood, since they had to give it up to join the Union.
Other than the Bible… CAN anyone give me a good reason to NOT allow two men, two women or man and a woman that ARE of LEGAL age and Are NOT related nor Mentally deficient, to NOT MARRY?
And remember… all of these combinations of People pay taxes to the Government for things that marriage gets to give tax breaks for. So spell out why I should or should support TAX for marriages IF “I / WE” can’t get it.
Marriage is about two adults… You say kids…. Go to Family Court like all the unwed mothers do.
Is Prop 8 OK with Shotgun Weddings for Pregnant unmarried Women?
Is Yes on * OK with NO MORE Divorces to “SAVE the FAMILY”?
OR is YES on 8 Just full of Hypocrisy???
(and other animal by-products?)
VOTE NO on 8 - Equality for ALL.
darn typos… I write too fast.
[ typo corrections ]
So spell out why I should or should [ NOT ] support TAX for marriages IF “I / WE” can’t get married.
Is Yes on [ 8 ] OK with NO MORE Divorces to “SAVE the FAMILY”?
If ONE TAKES the BIBLE for their Stand on “YES on 8″….
Does that Mean they Believe in close INBREEDING too?
Apparently So…
Q: Are there any instances of inbreeding in the Bible?
A: You might not be aware of it, but theres some pretty racy tales in that Bible you see people thump and thumb-through. Genesis 19, for instance, tells the story of Lot, the one man who along with his daughters was allowed to survive when His Holiness decided to clean house in Sodom. Because God recognized that Lot was a righteous man, he was able to hide out with his daughters in a cave somewhere in the wilderness near the Dead Sea. When they finally emerged and realized there was no one around, they assumed they were the last people left on earth. So what are a few aspiring mothers to do? Thats right get their father drunk and have their way with him. Its actually in there! According to the Bible, the previously righteous Lot became his own son-in-law as well as his two sons father, grandfather, and uncle all at the same time (perhaps only M. C. Escher could draw the family tree.). In the end, things actually turned out pretty all right. Lots sons grew up to be the ancestors of the Moabites and Ammonites, two very powerful tribes of the highland region east of the Jordan River. Not a bad turn-out for an ancestry of inbreeds.
BUT Most of the “YES on 8″ are kind of ignorant of their “bible” Facts,
And ALSO HISTORY… So here is a short summary from Wikipedia on In-Breeding in the Past / find more info at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inbreeding
The royal and noble families of Europe have inbred considerably as a result of royal intermarriage; the most discussed instances of inbreeding relate to European monarchies. Examples abound in every royal family; in particular, the ruling dynasties of Spain and Portugal were in the past very inbred. Several Habsburgs, Bourbons and Wittelsbachs married aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Even in the British royal family, which is very moderate in comparison, there has scarcely been a monarch in 300 years who has not married a (near or distant) relative. Indeed, Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh are second cousins once removed, both being descended from King Christian IX of Denmark. They are also third cousins as great-great-grandchildren of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom. European monarchies tried to avoid brother-sister marriages, though Jean V of Armagnac is a notable exception.
[edit] Ancient Egypt
Some Egyptian Pharaohs married their sisters; in such cases a special combination between endogamy and polygamy is found. Normally the son of the old ruler and the old ruler’s oldest (half-)sister became the new ruler. Cleopatra VII and Ptolemy XIII, married and named co-rulers of ancient Egypt following their father’s death, were brother and sister. Not only this, but all rulers of the Ptolemaic dynasty from Ptolemy II on engaged in inbreeding among brothers and sisters, so as to keep the Ptolemaic blood “pure”.
It really doesnt matter if this passes or fails. The bottom line is that whatever the result it will end up before the US Supreme Court. As will the cases in most states. Sooner or later the courts will find it unconstitutional to ban gay couples from being married. The argument against “separate but equal” will prevail. The court may go willingly or not, but it will happen. So it really doesnt matter what happens with this case. It is just a matter of time.
Hey Chris thanks for your reply, you made my argument for me.
Vote YES on PROP 8
Samson:
If it doesn’t matter, then just vote Yes on 8.
As for the First Amendment or Saddleback’s federal tax-exempt status, there’s no legal challenge that would stand. I’m glad Dr. Warren made this endorsement. As long he doesn’t endorse a candidate, churches are free to endorse issues.
Vote Yes on Proposition 8.
Anyone who contends that marriage between gays won’t be taught as a “right” to young children in California public school systems is being deceitful. The gay mass media clique that promotes the normalcy of a gay lifestyle on tv sitcoms will insist on an “equal right” to promote gay lifestyle and gay marriage to children attending public schools.
It is inevitable if Prop 8 is voted down that legal challenges to the California Ed. Code will uphold gay marriage as an integral part of school curricula by the courts and particularly by the ultra-liberal 9th Circuit.
BTW, where is all of this out-of-state money coming from to oppose Proposition 8?
Tolerance for gays and gay civil unions, YES, but gay marriage? No,
Thanks Jake,
I rather vote no, since it will be defeated eventually anyways.
OCGator is full of Cliques…
I wonder, If is HE GAY???
Because he push all the right buttons in so few words
that it Just makes people WANT to VOTE NO on 8.
Bravo… or is it Brava?
Marco… If telling “young” People it’s OK to be who they are (gay, Straight or Bi) in schools (or elsewhere) will save one child from committing Suicide… then it will ALL be worthwhile.
About 1/2 of the Money for Yes on 8 - is from Utah’s Mormon Church, which BTW has sent out a letter of BLACKMAIL to California Business’ that support human rights No on 8 - and said that they will release their Names if they don’t Donate the same amount to the Yes on 8 too.
Is that legal? I know it isn’t moral… It seems Nazism tactics are Alive and well with the Yes on 8 people.
Do you want the POST on that story?
PS Jesus says he Loves You ALL, no matter how wrong you have misunderstood his teachings of Love.
Jesus says Vote No on 8
that is, unless you think Jesus and the Bible are wrong…
again.
PSS… Marco,
Tolerance for gays and gay civil unions???
Why Tolerate us when the STATE CONSTITUTION already says GAYS have a RIGHT.
Is it Tolerance to Take away what is ALREADY somebody Else’s?
Thou Shalt NOT covet they Neighbor’s ANYTHING!
So Why DO You Covet the GAY’s RIGHT to Marry?
You “Yes on 8ers” don’t address the Failing of Non-Gays Marriages,
or the Lack thereof. Because NONE of you has answered if Divorces should be done away with, or UN-WED-Prego’s should have Shot-gun Weddings.
But I guess My many Brilliant Logical Questions Defies the simple Logic of the “Yes on 8ers”sheep following mind sets - as has been hocus pocused - by the likes of Rick War (against non-christaian good people) ren.
I say, Lord, please don’t let these peope drink the cool-aid, like such followers did in Jonestown decades ago… “AH-MEN”
No Chris I’m not gay, I just don’t need a line of “BULLSHIT” like you to get my point across.
Vote YES on PROP 8
Who gets the right to vote about my life?
What about Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness? If I am less of a citizen, can I pay less taxes? After HItler, in Germany it is now illegal to put the rights of a minority group to the vote of the majority.
Jim:
You can’t marry your sister either. That doesn’t make you “less of a citizen”. No one is going to send you to a concentration camp though. Luckily, we live in California, not Germany.
Chris-
You said -
“Other than the Bible… CAN anyone give me a good reason to NOT allow two men, two women or man and a woman that ARE of LEGAL age and Are NOT related”
What is the justification for NOT allowing two siblings to marry if they don’t reproduce - who’s interest does it serve for the govenment not to allow that union?
Don’t give me “its” not the same as gay-marraige because that’s what the Pro 8 side says about hetro vs Homo- it’s not the same.
Give me a good soild reason WHY (other than the Bible) that made you give an exception for not allowing two people who are in love to marry. Think hard…
Hey OCGator….
Profanity suits you fine…
All Your Rage
All your Hate
Make you want
to Propagate?
Go do some Bible
slavery, polygamy, Incesting stuff .
Oh, Peace and Love.
NO on 8 and the H8′ers
Hey Joe…
Where you going to????
Listen up dude…
I said give me a reason “IF NOT related”…
they you BS with if related and don’t reproduce…
Many have done the related and reproducing…
And some are in Prison… “Who’s your Daddy?”
But that example is AGAINST the Law…
Being GAY isn’t
When being related and married
wasn’t against the law they did it a lot..
But found out it created Mutants.
And they could still reproduce…
UNLESS you force sterilization upon them (the related)
to prove your point…
But wouldn’t that be as FASCIST as NOT allowing Gays to marry?
Dear Lord, once they (Yes on 8′ers) want to stop something…
all forms of their Fanatical Hitlerisms comes out of the woodworks.
And thus is why they (relatives) aren’t allowed to marry anymore.
Now, if you’re Not a total idiot…
MY question hasn’t been addressed….
“Other than the Bible… CAN anyone give me a good reason to NOT allow two men, two women or man and a woman that ARE of LEGAL age and Are NOT related to NOT get Married?”
Peace and Love.
NO on 8 and the H8′ers
PS… and to the original question there was also “AND not metally challenged”.?
So Chris -
we take away ANY chance of “mutants” and by your logic two gay brothers or two lesbian sister could apply for a marriage license.
Becase they are in LOVE and it does not affect me/you or threaten ANYONE they can be legally joined.
Stop blocking marragies that don’t create any harm to anyone- fellow Fascist
The doors wide open - its gonna happen whether you like it or not…
Vote yes on 8 and lets show those judges that over turned our prior vote that we don’t want this. Does our vote count for something or not? They should not be able to over turn our previous vote.
Right on Ann, vote “YES on PROP 8
I’m actually shocked that no one has even tried to dispute Dr. Warren’s 2% statistic.
I think now Saddleback can stop pretending they are friendly to gay people attending their church. You could say they are “friendly”, but only with conditions. They are certainly not a gay inclusive church.
Jessica:
Your “logic” is faulty. We have all fallen short of the glory of God. Haven’t you heard the phrase: “Love the sinner, hate the sin”? Can’t Saddleback be “friendly” in their Prison Outreach program, yet not endorse murder and other crimes?
I support Prop 8 and that does not make me prejudice against Gay people and I think that most people who support Prop 8 are not against gay people either. Just because a person doesn’t support a lifestyle doesn’t mean they do not support that person. The bible says “hate the sin and not the sinner”. I am not saying that being gay is a sin either, I am a Christian and I do believe it is God’s place to judge and not mine, however, I do believe that marriage is already in a state of array with the 50% divorce rate that has placed a huge burden on society and the offspring of these broken families. Personally, I feel all of Hollywood should be banned from marriage, as lightly as they take it, that group has degraded marriage more than anybody!! The bottom line is that nature knew what it was doing when it made it possible for life to be only be created through the miraculous union of a male and female and that the offspring do best when they witness their creators in a loving environment. Can gays be loving parents? I’m sure they can but two dads do not replace the human need for a mother and two women do not replace the human need for a dad. This is not a civil rights issue, but a human one. My own sister, who would make a wonderful mother has not yet found Mr. Right and there was a time she contemplated going to a sperm bank to have a baby. We discouraged her because it is not “natural” and unfair to bring a child into a situation like that on purpose, I’m not prejudice against her!
I am a heterosexual minister and have been officiating at same-gender unions (without a state license until recently) for the last 19 years. I think God’s unconditional love embraces everyone and God’s blessing rests upon both heterosexual and same-gender relationships which are built upon love and caring. I have many same-gender couples in my congregation who are wonderful models of families where there is nurture, support and compassion. People of faith must avoid the bigotry and prejudice upon which support of Proposition 8 thrives.
Once again, Prop 8 does not support bigotry and people of faith (true faith) are not about being prejudice to gays. Prop 8 supports what is best for society. I am a parent that has unconditional love for my children, yet I’m not going to accept every moral choice they make if it is unhealthy for them and for society. I will always accept my children but not always their choices, and the Lord didn’t either. If any of you remember the story in the Bible where the woman who committed adultery was about to be stoned to death the Lord said, “he who has no sin, may cast the first stone”, and the people left because they knew they were all sinners. However, the Lord then looked at the woman with love and said, “Go and sin more”, he did not say, “you can’t help it, keep committing adultery”. Rick Warren’s church ministers to criminals in jail with love, but he doesn’t support crime!! I once heard a lesbian living a celibate life with the help of Exodus say, “Alchoholism runs in my family, I can’t help it, but that doesn’t mean I have to live my life as a drunk, so I don’t want to live my life as a homosexual either.” We all have our crosses to bear, but if we truly cared we’d try to help each other from our weaknesses rather than make excuses for them.
Amen!
Jerry as a minister I would expect more support from you toward others who support PROP 8 Have some understanding of us poor souls.
Right on Ann, Jake you just keep on trucking.
Vote YES on PROP 8
If you are Christian, then what the Bible says overcomes ANY law that man created. or edited. So it should come to no surprise Pastor Rick’s stance on this issue.
What I think people need to understand is that many of us who are for Prop 8 are not for it because we are anti-gay people; we just want to keep the definition of marriage, which is strongly rooted in religion, to stay what it was intended to be.
What was so wrong with civil unions? It gave gay people the same benefits and rights as any heterosexual marriage. Why must we go and force society to accept an act that is clearly written in the Bible to be a sin. Yes, Jesus would still love a gay person because Jesus loves the person but he can still disaprove of that person’s sin. This is no different with the sins of a heterosexual person. If Prop 8 does not pass, how do Christian parents explain to their children that gay relations are sinful? How do our children respect the law if what their parents or the Bible teaches is something different than what the law says.
some people are so ignorant. first off, yes there were slaves in the bible, but in the eyes of Jesus those slaves were more valuable than the people they served. God honors servants not people who want to please themselves. Prop 8 is not trying to ban anyone merely save the definition of marriage which is between man and woman. only 2% americans will do anything that has to do with marriage. the us and the world is found on biblical principles to begin with. we have already tried to ban the use of the word God in schools with the pledge of allegiance, every penny, nickel and dime we touch has the word God in it. why hasnt anyone tried to get rid of that. christians are not against homosexuals we do not hate them, they are humans just like everyone else. we have different beliefs and morals and that is what makes us different. the gay community turns everything into a hate issue with people who will not conform to them. if there were 50 people in a room and they are all hot would we not turn on the A/C if one person said they were cold unfortunately the majority would rule. and the 1 prson would have to conform. I wont rant any more. Please vote yes on Prop 8. hope some of this makes sense.
So does Adolf Hitler!
Religion (and the Republican party) equal; hate, fear & division!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Separation of Church and State swings both ways. Marriage is and has always been a religious act. The State can’t dictate religious belief, therefore yes on Prop 8.
I really don’t understand all the anger since the passage of prop 8, after all the will of the people have spoken loud and clear for the second time mind you. I believe we the people have spoken so why all the protesting?.
Gays and lesbesians have exactly the same right as straight people to marry no more and no less, equal rights meaning the right to marry period!. Oh but that isn’t good enough they want above and beyond which then would not be equal rights it would be different which isn’t the same right to marry.
All people have the exact same right, the right to marry so stop the intimidation factor and except the will of the people twice have spoken loud and clear.
