Registrar of Voters Neal Kelley is offering a twist on Monday, the last to day to register to vote on Nov. 4: His staff will be set up to register voters in a drive through - as well as to facilitate early voting by drive through, for Monday only. Kelley says it’s the first time this has been done in California.
He will keep the operation open until midnight Monday. The address is 1300 South Grand Ave., Santa Ana.
In other preparations for Election Day, the Orange County Asian and Pacific Islander Community Alliance this evening begins three nights of phone banking to encourage Asians and Pacific Islanders to get out and vote. I notice that they’re starting at 6 p.m. tonight, and wonder how many debate watchers they’re going to interrupt. (We’ll be blogging the debate commentary or our virtual panel throughout the debate, here at Total Buzz.)
I must be going crazy, but I thought I clicked on a link that was going to take me to a list of locations where I a vote early. I read this “Meanwhile, early voting sites opened Sunday at the Registrar’s office and 12 spots around the county. For a list of those locations and more information on voting, click here which is http://totalbuzz.freedomblogging.com/2008/10/15/last-day-to-register-to-vote-is-monday-with-a-drive-through/6211/ And I was not sent to a page that offered that. I think I will need to go back to elementary school to learn to read again. I must be crazy. Or perhaps the Register people do not know how to correctly add in a hyperlink for some reason. Yeah, I think that is it. How many of you also feel like you wasted your time coming to this site?
As TAMBOGIRL states “I thught I was going crazy.” The article did NOT provide a list of 12 O.C. sites to vote early.
Thus, it was a waste of time.
If such information is available for early voting I wish The Register would deem it important……and publish the info.
