Palin rally: Palin as Ronald Reagan

October 4th, 2008, 2:03 pm · 2 Comments · posted by Martin Wisckol, Politics reporter

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Huntington Beach, was his usual colorful self, including a new pronounciation of “patriot” - pay-tree- AAAHT - which he seemed to enjoy repeating a few times. He also compared Sarah Palin to Ronald Reagan.

“We remember all the negative things they said about somebody else,” Rohrabacher said to the crowd at the Palin rally in Carson. “His name was Ronald Reagan. I can guarantee that the same way Ronald Reagan saved America in 1982, Sarah Palin and John McCain will save America when they get to the White House.”

When Obama raises business taxes, it will mean job cuts, pay cuts, or both.

It’s easy to say we’re going to make big bad corporations pay more - like Exxon. They are easy bad guys. But we 28+ million small business owners know better. What if they said “Lori’s Interior Design”, “Sally’s Hair Salon”, “Jimmy’s Restaurant” or “Anderson’s Nursery” - those evil businesses must pay more!

    We’d never let it happen.

It is easy to demonize “business” … most of us are so busy working our butts off to keep cash flow coming in so that we can provide a good living for ourselves, our employes, and their families. And there are no bailouts in small business - we are forced to manage our money, and work hard to deliver value to clients so that they will pay for them.

There are many issues in this campaign - but when I vote, I am first and foremost voting as a business owner, and someone responsible for 18 team members and their livelihoods. And I know that no matter how much the left and right screw up the economy in DC, that locally, it will be myself and all of my business peers who - despite unbelievable challenges - will continue to find a way to create prosperity and value and continue to create jobs.

Sarah Palin is the only one of the 4 candidates with any direct business experience and leadership as the CEO of her state … and she is the only one who has spoken consistently for the 28+ million of us who employ 2 to 20 people and would flourish with less regulation and lower taxes. Especially women business owners … we treat our teams as family, and I would love to give them all a raise right now if I could afford it in this anti-business state run by a legislature full of entitlement attitude never-worked-a real-job-in-my-life politicians. They hate us business owners, but they need us to fund everything they want to give to unions, their own pensions, and an awful lot of benefits for non-citizens.

    Small Biz 4 Sarah!!!
