O.C. lawmakers explain their bailout vote. What do you think?

October 3rd, 2008, 4:06 pm · 4 Comments · posted by Dena Bunis, Washington Bureau Chief

I talked to most of the Orange County delegation today and filed a story where the O.C. lawmakers  talk about the rollercoaster week in Washington and why they voted the way they did on the bailout bill. The story also has a poll that asks you whether you think this $700 billion package will stop the economic bleeding. Check it out.

  • GOP rank and file member says:

How can the rank and file Republicans vote for John Campbell in the face of a new $40,000 debt put on each American’s back by John’s vote in favor of the bail out?

So, John got to vote yes. We get to vote no on John Campbell.

He is the ONLY OC GOP congressman who voted for this tax hike and offers no real explanation for why.

  • GAW says:

Not quite GOP rank and file,, Ken Calvert voted YES also, and he represents San Clemente.

  • GAW says:

And don’t forget Gary Miller-R, twice voted YES.

  • SEAN IN NEWPORT BEACH says:

I recieved an e-mail from Campbell with an explaination of his vote.
One of his excuses appeared to be that the media was unfairly painting the bill as a 700 billion bailout.

I replied to quite both McCain & Obama ( about Palin ) he’s just putting
    LIPSTICK ON A PIG

He also mentioned other CA congressmen & the two presidential candidates voted with him to which I replied I’m going to be voting against them come Nov 4th too ( looks like I’l be voting libertarian once again for Prez like in 2004 )
