Aitken, Schroeder to help Register cover the conventions

August 21st, 2008, 10:22 am · 1 Comment · posted by Martin Wisckol, Politics reporter

mike-schroederf.jpgWe’re going to shake things up a bit with our convention coverage this year. Beside sending Washington Bureau Chief Dena Bunis to Denver to cover the Democrats, we’re also sending Newport Beach’s Mike Schroeder, the former California GOP chairman and ever-busy man behind the political scenes. He’ll be blogging daily on the opposition, and promises to bring insight, color and attitude.

For Minneapolis St. Paul, I’ll be arriving with Anaheim’s Wylie Aitken, chairman of the Democratic Foundation of Orange County and one of the key players in Democratic politics here. He’ll handle the opposition blogging in Minnesota.

For more background, click here for biographical information and an extended Q&A I did last year with Schroeder. He’s in the photo here.

Why did Aitken even bother to attend the convention in St Paul. His myopic truth distorted diatribe could have been mailed in from home. I thought he was to report on the convention. Nothing that happend would have pleased him even though Palin just took the shine off his man. His article Friday mentioning only that Palin was a Mayor of a small town shows why he is retiring. He can’t remember facts. Remember Mr Aitken for 2 years making many executive decisions and reforming the gov’t. Oh yeah and your guy was a State Senator for 143 days voting present most of the time. He is ultimately more capable. Oh by the way she is the R VP and he is your Presidential candidate.
Good thing you are retiring I doubt with your concept of capability and distortion of facts you would win many more trials. Especially if you were defending Obama
