I just helped Peggy carry her last load of stuff to her car from our office in the county Hall of Administration. Today was her last day of work for a while, as she’s won a presitigous 10-month Knight-Wallace Fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
Regular readers here know the incredible job she has done in covering the county and indicted former Sheriff Mike Carona, and how essential she’s been to the success of this blog. A Register job will be waiting for her if she returns - and we’re hoping she will. (Crack invesigative reporter Norberto Santana will fill in while she’s gone.)
