Obama ‘enemies’ to powwow in Newport Beach

Floyd Brown (photo) and Jim Lacy, two of the six people listed on Barack Obama’s enemies list, will be key players when the Western Conservative Political Action Conference convenes in October at the Fairmont Hotel in Newport Beach.
Brown is most famous for his Willie Horton TV ad that helped sink Mike Dukakis‘ campaign, and he’s now turning his attack-dog skills against Obama. The OC Register puts enemies in quotations as if Obama called them that which is completely untrue and misleading. He does point out on his website that lowlifes like Floyd Brown were involved in the swift boating of John Kerry and points out where these men have spread lies in attempts to subvert the political process. Check the wonderful quotes on Mr. Brown who attacked Kerry’s miitary service to his country.

Is “enemies list” a term that Total Buzz invented? Seems like that term gives Obama’s “Fight the Smears” site a connotation that doesn’t actually exist.

Don’t be so naive. It’s all part of the political game.
There are guys like these on both sides of the fence, Republicans and Democrats alike.
In the end, it’s all about winning the election and winning favors to line their own pockets and increasing their influence/power over others. Just the means and the rhetoric are sometimes different.
Man, am I the only one who’s so cynical and just sick and tired of these old school political parties pulling the same cr@p everyday.

As a moderate Democrat I’m glad I now live in Newport Beach. We have to band together to slowly reduce the number of crazies like these guys living and VOTING in this neck of the woods! One day, the OC will be Democratic! (I can dream, can’t I?)

They seem to be heirs to the Richard Nixon wing of the republican party. Reagan is long gone when these guys represent todays party.

Why is the Register misleading the public about this “story”? I keep seeing the words “enemies list” when in fact that is cleary not the truth.
The pages on the Obama Web site that you keep talking about deal with what that campaign considers to be lies, and the people behind the lies, including Lacy and some other nut-job, radical, extremist, full-of-hate Republicans.
Please show me where it says anything about an enemies list on the Obama web site? (And how do you explain using that term — “enemies list” — in quotes, as if it is an official term taken from the Web site? Truly disappointing.)
I love the coverage of the election. But please, leave the exaggerations and wild inaccuracies to Mr. Lacy.
Of, if you want, just tell the truth: Lacy and others on list of liars about Obama’s record.
