Just got word from County Democratic Chairman Frank Barbaro that Barack Obama is doing a fundraiser at the Balboa Club in Newport Beach on Sunday, July 13th at 3 p.m.
If you’re interested in bellying up the $2,300 required for the reception - that’s the maximum federal election rules allow - contact the party at 714-835-5158 or e-mail executive director Melahat Rafiei at melahat@ocdemocrats.org

Aw man….There’s nothing I’d rather do than pony up $2,300 of my hard earned money to see that empty suit (and empty brain!), but that’s the day I have reserved to re-arrange my sock drawer

I would not pay to meet people who actually have put food in my mouth like the many innovators in our country that have created successful companys that employ people. Obama is just another figure head who is real good at bullshitting people. I’m not buying it.

Will he answer my phone call next year?
July 3rd, 2008 at 8:36 pm
I wouln’t see him if it were free and I had the opportunity to sit next to him. Is he the best this country can do? A lot of talk , a lot of cliche. Perhaps Illinois is why poverty is as bad as it is.

No, I would not even pay $50.. People really believe that he can make some big changes, well, you are in for a big surprise. They promise and promise, they could this, they can that, AND all of a sudden, it just doesn’t happen. We are screwed with Obama & McCain.

Sorry NOBAMA I’m spending all my money on GAS right now .I can’t make it to Newport Beach to give you anything. Even if I had an extra $2300.00 I would not give it to you. I need my FED taxes lowered and my FICA first.I just got my pay check and YOU people reading this need to look at your pay check stub each week and SEE what is taken out already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If NOBAMA is elected it will only get worse!!!
I can’t believe that anyone could vote for this guy! when I hear him speaking I feel like he is addressing me as if I’m a second grader . He insults me when he speaks . Please don’t be be afraid to LOOK through this man. He is not the right man for the job at this time.
NOBAMA NOBAMA NOBAMA

Eleven examples, above, of the wisdom and erudition of Orange County. The finest we have to offer, apparently.
Every time I think OC is coming out of the dark ages, something slaps me upside the head and returns me to reality. Thanks, folks!

No American Eye Dull, just eleven examples of people who aren’t stupid enough to buy into the agent of “change” and all of his smoke and mirrors…..
Oh, you’re welcome
July 5th, 2008 at 9:39 am
I would not go meet him if they paid me the $2300.00

In the words of Samuel L Jackson…. “Hell No!”..
Would that $2k be a down payment on our future tax increases under a Obama presidency?

He lives in a 1.4 million dollar mansion in Chicago Land and he wants me to pay him $2300.00 to shake his hand….I think not.

It makes me so sad to read some of these comments…but what do you expect from Orange County I suppose…but let’s not forget, The Bush administration is the reason we can’t afford to fill our tanks, watch foreclosures happen all around us and can’t breath fresh air…but it sounds as though some of you want to point the blame at other people…standard OC Republicans…

I am very excited the next President of the US will be in OC/Newport Beach.
Obama is a tremendously capable politician sorely needed by our nation in these times. I expect he will be a tremendous President.
Count me in.
We do not have the luxury of four more years of failed GOP policies and misdirection.

Kathy is the only one that makes sense…the rest of you are short sided from saying he can’t make changes, to those who say they wouldn’t walk arcoss the street to meet him….how closed minded.
This county doesn’t care (most of this county) about anything but themselves…that’s the problem.
i hope you all understand that this is part of the process….or it should be..listening to that others have to say…a 1.4 million dollar house? That’s about what most houses in NB cost…!!! how can you complain about that>>>its not 14 million ! geeze open your brains and listen instead of bringing your HUGH biases…One said that we are paying more for gas now because of the last 8 years, not because of what Obama might do as president. Think before you speak..and listen before you make judgements..you might learn something
