The Reg’s Scott Martindale has a story today on the protest over Gov. Arnold Scwarzenegger’s budget cuts.
About 1,000 people attended the protest in Santa Ana yesterday, which was organized by a coalition of labor interests.
Some of the worst cuts, it appears, will hurt education. Scott reports that it could be a 6 percent slice — at least.
“Parents should not have to fundraise every year to make up for the government’s lack of fiscal responsibility,” said Lisa Paisley, a sixth-grade teacher at Lake Forest’s Foothill Ranch Elementary School. “What we offer our youth is skeletal already.”
