Fired Nguoi Viet editor launches Little Saigon blog

April 7th, 2008, 1:46 pm · 3 Comments · posted by Martin Wisckol, Politics reporter

bolshevik.jpgHao-Nhien Vu was one of two editors fired from Little Saigon’s Nguoi Viet Daily News after he published a photo of the controversial pedicure tub that led to the still ongoing torrent of protests outside the newspaper. Yes, controversial pedicure tub. If you’re new to the drama, find more about it here.

But you can now get your dose Hao-Nhien, who’s unafraid to stir things up, at his new blog, “The Bolsavik: All Viet, all the time.” Bolsa is what a lot of Vietnamese call the Little Saigon area. The play on words seems a blatant nose-thumbing to the anti-communist demonstrators who got him fired.

Hao-Nhien’s current offerings include a visit to supervisorial candidate Hoa Van Tran’s campaign HQ,  an item on the oddities surrounding protesters of another Little Saigon paper called Viet Weekly, and this piece of supervisorial candidate Dina Nguyen’s campaign team. … I’m adding his site to the Total Buzz Mountain of Links, for future reference.
