Well, rats…Matt Cunningham beat me to this story today…Seems there’s another problem in Dina Nguyen’s campaign finance report.
Dina Nguyen reported that she received $1,600 from the Dalat Supermarket — but a cancelled check that’s been leaked to the media shows that Dalat contributed $1,000. I called Dina’s spokesman, Truong Diep, and he explained a mistake was made in transposing the actual $1,000 Dalat contribution with another donation made by Travelodge Westminster HB — the motel actually gave $1,600 and it was reported as $1,000.
“It was a minor typo and we are fixing it,” Diep said.
But as Matt wrote over on Red County in his second post, this brings up the question of whether Dina Nguyen should be serving as her own treasurer. Diep’s response to that?
“We are hiring a treasurer today,” he said.
The job will be held by Lysa Ray, a former staffer at the Registrar of Voters who is well-respected.
Of course it’s a typo. What else could it be.

Imagine if she was making all the decisions on her own? What would happened then? She’s never known to be capable of making any important decisions. I doubt it if she’s making any decisions at all in this race. I can tell you, Van Tran is taking the lead on this one, he’s the mastermind behind this election.I admire Van but his decision to put his reputation on the line for someone like Dina beats me. I am only a small business owner in Little Saigon with no name ID and I wont’ even do that for her.
I picked this up from another site and just wanted to share with all of you because it’s SO TRUE but I never thought of it that way…
“we are more than just disgusted with these local policians. they run for office at our expense, they use our hard earn money to take it out on each other, win or loose they don’t care, it’s not their hard earn money. once they do get into office, they abuse their power and behave worse then irresponsible teenagers. we should stop being so generous and start supporting those that can do the job. let them prove themselves first, they dont’ have to hold public office in order to serve this community if they really want to. Ask dina to see what has she done? really??? i am totally disgusted… many are. “
If you know you dont’ qualify, dont’ waste our money on the race DINA, i know it’s not your hard earned money so you dont’ care, but we do. Stop taking money from UNEMPLOYED people to run for office. Don’t you think you should be giving them instead of taking it from them to make their dail lives even harder. If you want to serve this community well, you could remain a councilwoman and cna still do that.

I guess she proved my point. She’s NOT READY TO PLAY REAL POLITICS. Wasn’t Andy Quach her boytoy and Truong Diep was also there to help with all the filings and they still make mistakes? I’m not surprised. For those of you that could read vietnamese, read Nguoi Viet Daily News today and pull yesterdays paper to read the article on Dina and you will be able to make the comparison yourself. The choice is clear. Dina doesn’t stand a chance. Eventhough she’s being sued by Trung to the very end, it doesn’t distract her from doing a great job and making history in this town. If we watched this race closely we will see plenty more mistakes…

EVENTHOUGH JANET WAS BEING SUED BY TRUNG NGUYEN TO THE VERY END, IT DOESN’T DISTRACT HER OR STOP HER from DOING A GREAT JOB AND MAKING HISTORY IN THIS TOWN. Dina, go play with someone in your own league.

I wouldnt’ be surprise if corruption will also surface in that camp. We support Vietnamese candidtates becuase we need to have a voice at the County level, we DO NOW and we are well represented by JANET NGUYEN. There’s no need for VAn Tran’s group to put up an unqualified pawn like Dina hoping to do some damage to Janet. This group is blind by their vengence so they will put this community to shame and destroy the economic growth just for Van and his boys to settle personal scores. WE need to be wiser in choosing our Supervisor. I think janet is doing a fine job.
