The poll just released by the Public Policy Institute of California finds:
* 72% of Californians say the state is in a recession.
* 42% choose a mix of spending cuts and tax hikes to address the state budget problem (up from 36 percent in December).
* 76% expect bad economic times in the coming year.
* 24% approval of the job President Bush is doing, a new low.
* 44% approve of the job Gov. Schwarzenegger is doing, down from 57% in December.
* 59 percent believe immigrants are a benefit to California because of their hard work and job skills. In 1998, 46% held this view.

Isn’t PPIC the same liberal report that Gordon Dillow blasted a couple of weeks ago becuase of their skewed research on immigration?
