Just got a note from former Assemblyman Ken Maddox, saying that he’s withdrawing himself from consideration as a candidate for sheriff. We were hearing that he was unlikely to be a finalist — he may have caught wind of that as well.
“The Board has plenty of fine individuals to choose from,” Maddox wrote in an email. “I have every confidence they will make a sound choice.”
Ken who ????? I didn’t even know he was a canidate. Did he think for a nano-second that he had a chance ????? By the by …did anyone else see Jack Anderson’s performance at the Medal of Valor in Irvine ??? I think Tim and Bill wrote his closing remarks, poorly written and a horrible delivery. Jack ( as always ) lost his place, stumbled over words and sounded very nervous, well he doesn’t have to worry he won’t have to do this again next year.
Damn! And Maddox was the one I wanted to see take the top spot! I guess I’ll have to get behind my second choice–Kevin Keyes for Sheriff!

Jack’s performance was so bad on Friday that I see toast masters in Jack’s future … oh and by the way it wasn’t Tim or Bill who wrote his closing remarks it was two assitants from upstairs that did him a favor, looks like they are Walter fans. Did Jack finally figure out that the Bomb Squad is located behind the range ( Katella range ) he did mention that he has never been there and wanted to see what the unit does for a living I saw the new department letter head with Jack as acting Sheriff in GIANT letters along with Joan and Steve still listed as assitant Sheriff what a joke….and 5149.5 I will have to throw my towel in with you and support the H.O.A. guy….the fun never stops does it
BOOT, I’m thinking of applying for the job myself as there don’t seem to be any qualification standards to stop me. In fact:
1) I actually DO know where the bomb squad is
2) I was the candidate who got the 33 votes that were thrown out by the AOCDS
3) I am still in possession of my laptop and Kevin Taylor’s file
4) I look good in green
5) I can Guaran-damn-tee that they will never be able to trace any of the crap to me
