Cook’s comeback to Schroeder lawsuit

March 19th, 2008, 3:03 pm · 4 Comments · posted by Martin Wisckol, Politics reporter

debbie-cook.jpgYou may have read elsewhere about GOP gamesman Mike Schroeder’s involvement in the suits against Debbie Cook, the Democrat challenging Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Huntington Beach. The complaint says that Cook is improperly using “Mayor, city of Huntington Beach” as her ballot designation because the post is not elected — she’s elected to the City Council, and then the council appoints the mayor.

In this Registrar story now on the Web, Cook defends the designation and returns volley nicely.

The very fact that they’ve decided to sue us says we’re on the radar screen,” Cook said. “They’re paying attention. This means that they’re concerned. … They’re just trying to distract us from our goals and this is one of those partisan tactics to do that … partisan tactics that voters are tired of.”

C’mon Martin, you can give Red County credit for breaking this story. They give you and Peggy credits all the time on their blog.

Cook is just another nut job. Anyone see her recent interview in The Voice? She brings little to the table in the way of solution to current issues. She is an environmentalist one trick pony. Let her call herself the Queen of Sheba if she wants. She cant win so who cares? She is not worth the time.

Debbie Cook actually has to win the Democratic Primary first. It’s a bit presumptuous to declare that she will face Rohrabacher in November. She has to face the other candidate, Dan Kalmick, first. He actually has solutions to current issues, not just environmental arm-waving. Check out http://www.kalmick2008.com
