Carona to meet media at 9 a.m.

January 14th, 2008, 7:06 am · 4 Comments · posted by Peggy Lowe

caronapic1.jpg Sheriff Mike Carona will be meeting with reporters today at 9 a.m. to talk about his resignation, according to word from the consigliere, Mike Schroeder. Then, Carona will do another of those revolving-door interview sessions with individual reporters, like he did on the day his indictment was unsealed.

The Register’s Larry Welborn was chosen for the assignment — I’ll report back as soon as we get word from him.

I can’t wait to hear him resign.

Nine years too late. Paul Walters, Chief of Police in Santa Ana, was the best man in 1998 and still is. When will the OC Republicans stop fronting for charming poseurs with big smiles, lotsa personality and a sweet golf swing. For the Board of Supervisors I have three words, ” Outside the Department”. Let the current Assistant Sheriffs go back to work instead of carrying Carona’s sedan chair through the streets. There are nearly 3000 sworn/non-sworn employees who deserve a leader, not a professional follower.

In the end it will be a guilty plea to at least tax evasion and mail fraud….I’ll bet a fifty on it…oh wait, that’s illegal, what the hell it’s the O.C
