Ackermans at the White House fete

Just got a ring from state Senate GOP Leader Dick Ackerman and his wife, Linda, walking away from the White House where they spent the last couple hours at one of the 13 holiday parties the Bushes are throwing this month.

“I congratulated the president and said, ‘Stay tough,’” Dick told me. Both were brimming with excitement from the visit, commenting on both the classiness and friendliness of the event.

“You felt that you were at somebody’s personal party,” Linda said. I asked it if was as good as Dick’s surprise party last week and she laughed. “No, it wasn’t. But it was a close second.”
