Registrar of Voters will defend against Trung Nguyen

December 5th, 2007, 10:50 am · Post a Comment · posted by MARTIN WISCKOL

Just got word that the Court of Appeals has issued a ruling that the county Registrar of Voters will join Supervisor Janet Nguyen is defending the election challenge of Trung Nguyen, who lost the February election by three votes.

Trung had asked that the Registrar be kicked off the case. Dave Gilliard, Janet’s political consultant, relayed the news to me. I’m trying to track down a copy of the ruling and will post it here when I get it. Spoke with Janet’s attorney Phil Greer and he said there was not much of a document, just a single sentence saying Trung’s request had been denied. I suspect Janet’s battle will be a little easier with the county’s legal team joining her.

Oral arguments are scheduled for Dec. 18.
