Assemblywoman Mimi Walters, R-Laguna Niguel, has notified the state controller’s office that she will not be accepting the pay raise either (see previous item).
I’m leaning toward favoring an outright rejection of the pay raise, rather than contributing it to charity.
The charity thing — vigilant reporters will have to get Van Tran’s tax return to verify where the money went. We’ve got better things to do, like writing about the state budget shortfall. Nonetheless, a nice gesture.
