Dana Point City Council: Illegal resolution?

Remember the letter I posted here yesterday, in which four of the five Dana Point council members signed an unofficial resolution opposing the recall of Mayor Diane Harkey? Recall leader Jim Lacy (photo), a lawyer, is among those saying that constituted an illegal, unnoticed meeting and decision by the council. Here’s the “cure and correct” letter he said he’s sending to the city, alleging a violation of the Brown Act and asking, among other things, for a public apology by the council
By the way, I’d heard that there was a draft of the “resolution” subsequent to the one I posted. If anybody has seen that, I’d be grateful if you could let me know what the differences are.

Well, here we go again. This smacks of the handiwork of the Mayor and her cohorts once again trying to fool the public, and using the apparent official standing of the city to do so. Why does this mayor NEVER do the right thing in the way she reacts to situations, while continuing to make matters ever worse?
So, if it’s not phony City Newsletters, it’s misleading ‘personal’ letters supposedly from residents decrying the recall while trying to make the proponents the subject - when in fact the letters all come from a central source, letters written for residents to sign as their own and sign away their rights, and now THIS! The Mayor is incapable of grasping what democracy is all about, and thinks it is hers to do with as she pleases for her own vain ambitions. She’d better think again. Last time I checked this is not the former Soviet Union. The citizens of Dana Point will soon take their city back.
