MoFo hired to battle Moorlach

The Tin Star blog is reporting that the deputy sheriffs union has hired one of the nation’s biggest law firms, Morrison & Foerster, to defend them against Supervisor John Moorlach’s intended lawsuit challenging pension benefits.
This law firm is a powerhouse and it will be a high-profile case if the county actually files. So you can bet MoFo will be throwing some of its top talent at Moorlach and the county.
And don’t forget, Moorlach’s taking on not only Treasurer Chriss Street and the deputies union in separate issues, but he also pushing for a civilian review board to oversee Sheriff Mike Carona’s operations. I can’t remember the last time we had a supervisor making so much noise.

A funny thing happened to Supervisor Moorlach during his march to the throne. People actually decided that he doesn’t get to decide the outcome for them.
So far he’s decided who his replacement in the treasurer’s office would be. And now he’s decided who has to leave the office…only not everyone is listening.
Then he decided that he would appoint someone to oversee the Sheriffs Office (on his behalf), only the Sheriff wouldn’t play alon.
Then he decided that Newport Beach should take on the responsibility of running the Harbor Patrol even though it is a regionally used venue….and so far they haven’t listened either.
Then he decided that Los Alamitos, Rossmoor and Seal Beach should become a super city…lo and behold, they balked too.
And now he’s decided that the county should reneg on promises made to retirees…..and once again….people just aren’t listening.
Maybe its time for the arrogant Mr. Moorlach to re-evaluate his caustic and overbearing tactics.
